Bernard Schurr Cotes du Rhone Villages 2016

Blended Red from France - Rhone
Review Date : 29-Nov-2018
Dark, even ruby-red colour with some black-red hues at the heart, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegantly presented with finely concentrated aromas of dark red berry fruit with aromatic dark raspberries, lifted red florals and nuances of nutty oak and a hint of resin. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant in proportion with a finely concentrated heart of black and dark-red berry fruits with floral and dark herb elements and nutty oak. The fruit sweetness is balanced by fine-grained flowery tannin extraction lending a refined line with integrated acidity. The wine flows with good drive to a lingering, slender finish. This is an elegant, fine-grained Cotes du Rhone Villages red with dark fruits, floral lift and herb notes. Serve with roasted game meat dishes over the next 4+ years. A blend of 50% each Grenache and Syrah, the fruit hand-picked, from the village of ‘Plan de Dieu’ and fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 9 months in large format 2 and 3 y.o. French oak. Certified Agriculture France organic. 17.5/20 Nov 2018 RRP $30.00
