70% Merlot, 13% Malbec, 11% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Bridge Pa Triangle district fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 22 months in 70% French oak, with 40% of the barrels new. Dark, deep ruby-red with garnet hues on rim. This has an elegant and tightly bound bouquet with aromas of savoury red berry fruits, game, earth, leather and cedar from secondary development along with nutty oak. Medium-bodied and well-proportioned, the palate features elegant flavours of dried plum and savoury berry fruit with dried herb notes, entwined with earth and cedar. The fruit is subtly sweet, countered by fine-grained tannins providing a firm, dry line. Flavours of cedar, leather and earth are carried to a dry, light finish. This is an elegant, dry-textured Merlot-blend with secondary savoury fruit flavours and nutty, cedary oak.
