Bel Echo ‘Terroir – Broadbridge’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Nov-2013
Bright, even, very pale straw-yellow colour with green hues. This has a full, soft, aromatic nose with subtle passionfruit notes that build in volume, revealing flinty, mineral, reductive interest and complexities. The fruit grows in piquancy and freshness with fresh herb elements. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, softly expressed flavours of passionfruit, white stonefruits and citrus meld with mineral and flinty elements. The mouthfeel is harmoniously textured and soft in acidity, with the flavours flowing smoothly, underlined by freshness and energy. The acidity emerges adding to the fruit juiciness and leads to a dry, lingering finish. This is a soft-textured, harmonious-flowing Sauvignon Blanc with juicy, complex, passionfruit and flinty flavours. Match with Mediterranean-inspired fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from 80% Broadbridge clay and 20% Greywacke riverbed soils, fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 6 months on lees with batonnage. Certified BioGro organic. 18.0/20 Nov 2013 RRP $24.00
