Bel Echo ‘Terroir – Broadbridge’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Mar-2012
A terroir selection of fruit, 80% from Broadbridge clay and 20% from Greywacke riverbed, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 6 months on lees with stirring. Brilliant, very pale straw colour, with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has an attractively lifted and aromatic nose of white florals, gooseberry fruit and cut grass, quite fine and intricate with its elegance. Dry and elegant in proportion, delicate exotic floral notes intermingle with gooseberries and tropical fruits. Excellent acid liveliness and tension provides a raciness through the palate, leading to a fine, sustained finish with floral esters and herbs. This is an elegant and lively Sauvignon Blanc with detail. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 2+ years. 17.5+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $24.00
