Bright, pale straw yellow, even colour throughout. It has an opulent bouquet filled with stonefruit, citrus, fine spice and roasted almond. Medium-full bodied, aromas of peach and citrus interweaved with apple pie, vanilla, and toasted almond shavings. It has an enticing mouthfeel, silky with fine textured phenolics, unfolding hints of slate minerals. Acid tension persists to an elegant, long finish. This Chardonnay is well-structured with refined layers, lovely acid tension, texture and length. Match with crayfish and lemon chicken over the next 5-7 years. Clone 15 (50%) and 548 (50%), handpicked, whole bunch pressed to barrel on full solids, spontaneous fermentation, aged 12 months in French oak, 50% oak. 13.5% alc. 863 bottles produced. 19/20 pts (95 pts) July 2023 RRP $75
