Chardonnay from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 01-Aug-2022
Bright, pale yellow with some depth, even colour throughout. The nose is softly full, penetrating aromas of stone fruit, citrus, unfolding wildflowers, delicate spice and a creamy veil. Medium-bodied, aromas of lemon curd, pineapple, peach interweave citrus peel, dandelion, subtle spice and minerals. The mouthfeel is delicate with bright, integrated acidity glide along a mineral, fine-textured palate lends a long, focused finish. The fruit shows purity and good energy, structured and poised. This is a sleek Chardonnay with a citrus fruit core, minerals, delicate spice, and subtle details on a focused, lengthy finish. Match with blue cod and seafood risotto over the next 6-8 years. Estate fruit, whole bunch pressed to barrel with full solids, spontaneous fermentation, 13% alc, aged 11 months in French oak, 33% new oak. 1,099 bottles produced. 19-/20 pts (95 pts) Aug 2022 RRP $75
