Blended Red from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Jan-2017
Moderately dark and deep ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. This has a full, well-concentrated and dense nose of dark-red berry fruit entwined with dried herbs, notes of tobacco and earth, and cedary, smoky oak elements. The fruit has savoury interest and lifted aromatic detail. Medium-bodied, the palate has elegantly presented and gently rich and luscious flavours of savoury red berry fruits along with fresh and dried herbs, together with tobacco, earth and cedar. The mouthfeel is lively with fresh acidity and the wine is carried by light tannin extraction and structure. The wine leads to an elegant, lingering finish with sweet and savoury red fruit flavours.
