Baron de Badassiere Pays d’Oc Viognier 2009

Viognier from France - Other
Review Date : 09-May-2011
Fruit from vineyards in the Etang de Thau area, Picpoul de Pinet, in the Languedoc. Bright straw-yellow with light golden hues to the colour, this has a clean, somewhat shy nose of apricots, citrus blossom and florals. Dry on palate, this is medium-bodied at 13.0% alc. Fresh in fruit expression, with a good core of up-front apricot and floral flavours, the wine is soft in acidity, this lending a broad mouthfeel with modest nuance. Identifiably Viognier, soft and accessible, this will match seafood and poultry dishes over the next 2 years. 15.5-/20 May 2011 RRP $22.55
