From vines planted in 2008, fermented in seasoned oak barriques to 13.2% alc and 3.2 g/L rs, the wine undergoing some batonnage. Winemaker is Sarah-Kate Dineen of Maude Wines. Very pale straw colour with green hues. This has a very delicate, fresh and lively nose with shy, but lifted fruit aromas, hints of herbs and pepper intermixed with minerally nuances. A spicy barrel ferment component and flinty, smoky lees emerges in the glass. Dryish to taste, light lifted esters entwined with white pepper and herbs are enlivened by slippery, lacy acidity. Spicy oak flavours unfold and combine with the fruit. This is very fine in texture and with the acidity lead to a sustained finish. This is a lighter wine, with oak spiciness adding to the detail and make-up. 17.0/20 Feb 2013
