Banfi ‘La Pettegola’ Toscana Vermentino IGT 2013

Other White from Italy - Veneto
Review Date : 17-Jun-2014
Brilliant lemony straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. This has a very fresh, tightly bound and elegant nose with restrained aromas of exotic florals and tropical fruits interwoven with herbs and steely minerals, the aromatics showing some depth. Dry to taste and medium-light bodied, fresh, lifted floral and exotic tropical fruit flavours are entwined with herb and minerally elements and expressed with a degree of restraint. The palate follows a fine, grainy phenolic line with lacy acidity providing freshness to the mouthfeel. Nuances of herb and musk add to the detail, and the wine recedes to a clean, dry, crisp finish. This is an up-front and elegant Vermentino with exotic floral, herb and mineral flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and Asian fare over the next 2+ years. Vermentino fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. 16.5+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $35.00
