Dark, deep hearted black-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on rim. The bouquet is full and packed with aromas of dark, spicy plum fruit with notes of cherries, berries and a subtly piquant herbal underlay, along with resinous oak nuances. Fullish-bodied, fulsome and robustly presented flavours of ripe dark plums, spices, earth and herbs are harmoniously melded on the palate. There is plenty of extract and texture, but the acidity is soft and mouthfeel is rounded. This has plenty of presence, and the flavours are carried to a soft finish with earth and resinous oak notes. This is a fulsome and well-structured, rounded Pinot Noir with flavours of spicy and earthy plums. Hand-picked fruit, fully-destemmed and fermented partially by indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in approx. 25% new oak. 17.5/20 Mar 2014 RRP $29.95
