Bald Hills Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 21-Sep-2022
Bright, moderately deep ruby-red, lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full, with aromas of cherry and raspberry melded with a hint of tobacco, herb and black pepper. Medium-bodied, aromas of cherry and raspberry entwined with savoury elements, thyme, tobacco and black pepper. The acidity is fine and delicate; supple tannins contribute to a silky mouthfeel. This elegant Pinot Noir possesses red fruit, herb and tobacco complexity, fine acidity, and silky texture. Match with duck and pork over the next 3-5 years. Handpicked, destemmed, fermented in open-top fermenters to 14.1% alc, then aged 12 months in French oak barriques, 29% new oak. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Sep 2022 RRP $46
