Bald Hills Last Light Riesling 2021, Central Otago

Riesling from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 21-Sep-2022
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is voluminously full, with aromas of citrus, a suggestion of beeswax, honey and citrus blossom. Medium-light bodied, off-dry to taste, aromas of lime and grapefruit fill the palate, along with its pith, subtle notes of citrus blossom and honey linger to a dry, crisp finish. The fruit is vibrant and fresh with a good acid backbone, balanced by a hint of sweetness. Apple skins like phenolics added texture. This is a refreshing Riesling with a citrus core and balanced acidity on a fine-textured palate. Match with pan-fried sole and steamed clams over the next 3-4 years. Handpicked, whole bunch pressed to tank, inoculated with selected wine yeasts, fermented to 11.5% alc, 16.4 g/l RS. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) Sep 2022 RRP $30
