Bald Hills Friends and Lovers Rosé 2020, Central Otago

Rosé from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 09-Nov-2020
Bright, pale salmon-pink, even colour throughout. The bouquet is full of intense aromas of strawberries, melons and white blossoms. Dry to taste, medium-bodied, aromas of strawberries lead the palate alongside cranberries, apricots interweaved cherry blossoms and subtle powdery white pepper. The fruit is succulent with ideal ripeness and acidity balance. The light phenolic texture on the palate provides a smooth-flow, carries flavours with poise. This is an attractive rosé with a range of fruit aromas lead by aromas of strawberries, along with cherry blossom on a smooth flowing light-textured line. Serve as an aperitif or match with salmon sushi over the next 2 years. Handpicked, whole bunch pressed, fermented in stainless steel to 14.4% alc, 4 g/l RS. 18/20 pts (90 pts) Nov 2020 RRP $30
