Bald Hills 3 Acres Pinot Noir 2021, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 19-Dec-2022
Moderately deep ruby-red, lighter on edge. This has a softly full, fragrant bouquet, penetrating with violet, blackberry, black cherry and an amalgam of spice. Medium-full bodied, aromas of violet, blackberry and black cherry supported by fresh acidity, unfolding mocha, clove and black pepper. A grainy tannin framework coated the palate with a grip, reflecting mocha nuance and lending a mouth-filling finish. This broody Pinot Noir shows a rich palate, spice and a ripe fruit core. Match with barbeque lamb and burgers over the next 3-4 years. Handpicked, destemmed, fermented in open-top fermenters to 13.9% alc, aged 12 months in French oak barriques, 19% new oak. 16.5/20 pts (83 pts) Dec 2022 RRP $34
