Bald Hill 3 Acres Pinot Noir 2018, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 25-Sep-2020
Luminous, ruby-red with a black hue, moderately transparent, slightly lighter on edge. The nose deeply fragranced with nuances of dark thyme and minerals, along with blackberries, cherry jam, underlying forest floor and a meaty note. Medium-bodied, fresh aromas of red cherries, blackberries, green plums along with thyme and liquorice forms a mouthwatering core. Youthful, ripe tannin extraction is velvety, coated the palate with some grip, added body to the wine. Fresh acidity lifted the palate with vibrancy. This is a youthful Pinot Noir with aromas of lush fruit and dark thyme element, on a robust, ripe tannin palate. Match with venison stew and lamb chops over the next 3-5 years. 18-/20 pts Sept 2020 RRP $32
