Badenhorst ‘Secateurs’ Swartland Chenin Blanc 2012

Chenin Blanc from South Africa
Review Date : 07-Aug-2013
Fruit from vines over 50 y.o. from ‘Kalmoesfontein’ fermented with a portion in old French oak to 13.0% alc., the wine aged on lees 7 months. Pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is fine and very tightly bound, freshly aromatic with good depth of tropical fruit aromas intermingling with subtle herbal notes. Dry to taste, the palate is crisp, zesty and elevated in acidity, the fruit flavours showing on front palate with delicacy. Waxy, tropical fruits are carried by some phenolic textures, and lead to a light, slender, dry finish. Drink over the next 2-3 years. 16.5+/20 Aug 2013 RRP $25.00
