Baby Doll Marlborough Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Feb-2013
Fruit from eight blocks in the Awatere and Wairau valleys including clones 777, 5, 114 and 115, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.5% alc., a portion of the wine aged in seasoned oak. Moderately deep ruby-red colour with bright, light purple hues on rim. The bouquet is light but concentrated with moderately deep aromas of dark raspberries, dark red florals and peppery herbs. Medium-bodied, a soft core of dark raspberry fruit is the feature, the palate line supported by soft and light tannins and crisp, zesty acidity. There is some drive, and the mouthfeel is has liveliness, but is supple. The flavours carry through to a bright and lively finish. This is a fresh and lively, soft-textured, raspberry-fruited Pinot Noir to serve with poultry over the next 3 years. 16.0/20 Feb 2013 RRP $21.95
