Baby Doll Hawke’s Bay Merlot Rosé 2015

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 18-Sep-2016
Moderately deep strawberry pink colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with gently packed aromas of redcurrants and cranberries and subtle notes of raspberries and red florals. The nose has a rounded core that reveals nuances of earth and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate shows light, refreshing fruit flavours of cranberries and redcurrants with fresh herb elements, lifted by red florals. The mouthfeel is beginning to soften and integrate at the core, lending softness, with the acidity melding in.. As the wine flows, some phenolics emerge, and the wine is carried gently to a soft, dry, retrained finish of red florals. This is a softly refreshing light rosé with cranberry and redcurrant flavours, the wine beginning to integrate and become rounded. Serve as an aperitif, with tapas and antipasto over the next 18 months. Hawke’s Bay Merlot fruit cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 2.8 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Sep 2016 RRP On-premise only
