Babich Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 16-Mar-2014
Hawke’s Bay fruit processed in Auckland, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 4.1 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, light on rim. The nose is fresh, straightforward and clean with chalky-minerally infused gooseberry fruits, along with soft herb notes and hints of tropical fruits. Dry to taste and with good body, light flavours of gooseberries, herbs and nettles show with clarity and depth. The mouthfeel is dry in texture with soft phenolics guiding the palate line, the acidity mellow and ripe. The flavours lead to a moderately rich, textured finish. This is a well-fruited and textured, ripe, upfront Sauvignon Blanc. Serve with seafood, poultry, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. 17.0+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $20.00
