Babich ‘Family Estates’ ‘Individual Vineyard – Wakefield Downs‘ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Mar-2014
Fruit from the ‘Wakefield Downs’ vineyard , Awatere Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 1.6 g/L RS. Very even, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has a very elegant and finely presented bouquet of tightly bound aromas of gooseberries, nettles, fresh herbs and chalky minerals. Dry to taste and elegant in proportion, slender, but intense flavours of minerals, herbs and nettly fruit feature. The core is fine-textured and flows with brightness and energy supported by mouthwatering acidity. A suggestion of secondary bean-like nuances show, and the flavours are carried with zestiness and laciness to a sustained finish. This is a tight and slender, mouthwatering Awatere Sauvignon Blanc. Match with seafood over the next 2 years. 18.0-/20 Mar 2014 RRP $25.00
