Babich ‘Family Estates’ Individual Vineyard – Wakefield Downs’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Nov-2011
Brilliant green-hued straw colour with a pale rim. This has a very fine, restrained nose of English gooseberries, white florals, stonefruits, fresh garden herbs and minerals, lifted by fermentation esters. Dry and still very tight and undeveloped, this is a wine of delicacy and fine textured with light gooseberry fruits and florals infused with minerals. The palate is soft and harmonious with balanced acidity and a moderately sustained finis. Fruit from the ‘Wakefield Downs' vineyard in the Awatere Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.2% alc. and 2.2 g/L rs. Serve with antipasto and shellfish over the next 2+ years. 17.5+/20 Nov 2011 RRP $25.00
