Babich Family Estates ‘Individual Vineyard – Headwaters Organic’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Dec-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues, pale on rim. The nose is restrained with softly fresh aromas of gooseberries and sweet pes, along with fresh herbs, lantana and tropical fruit notes, unveiling a fine, tight core with penetrating nuances of chalky minerals. Dry to taste and elegant in presentation, the palate features a tight core with restrained and subtle fruit flavours of gooseberries, sweet peas, fresh herbs and white stonefruits, entwined with mineral notes. The palate has a firm and lively core with refreshing acidity and lifted floral elements unfolding as it flows along a fine, soft-textured phenolic line. The wine is balanced and the componentry integrated, and the lacy acidity leads to a long finish of gooseberries, sweet peas and minerals. This is an elegant, tightly bound Sauvignon Blanc with restrained fruit flavours, balanced componentry and a fine phenolic line. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the certified organic block of the ‘Headwaters’ vineyard, Wairau, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 2.6 g/L RS. Certified BioGro organic. 18.0-/20 Dec 2015 RRP $27.00
