Babich ‘Family Estates’ ‘Individual Vineyard – Headwaters Organic Block’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Sep-2012
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has a fresh and full nose with softly intense aromas of red capsicums, gooseberries, passionfruit and steely minerals, all detailed and interwoven. Dry with crisp, tingly acidity, the flavours of gosseberries and passionfruit are tightly bound but are driven with slippery acidity adding real liveliness. This has good depth and a building body, and the wine finishes with dry, fine textures and some pungent passionfruit notes. This is a youthfully tight, classical Wairau Valley Sauvignon Blanc with detail and nuances to serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Headwaters' organic block in the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.4% alc. and 3.0 g/L rs, the wine spending time on lees. Certified Biogro organic. 18.0-/20 Sep 2012 RRP $25.00
