Babich ‘Family Estates’ ‘Individual Vineyard – Headwaters’ Marlborough Gruner Veltliner 2016

Gruner Veltliner from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Apr-2017
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with green hues, lighter on the rim. This has a fresh, tightly bound nose with a fine core of fresh herbs, white stonefruits and nuances of green stonefruits with white pepper suggestions. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate has a firm heart with light flavours of green herbs, white stonefruits and white pepper. The mouthfeel is thirst-quenchingly dry and the wine flows along a fine phenolic line with integrated acidity, leading to a slendr, dry, lingering finish with stonefruit and mineral nuances. This is a taut and light fruited Gruner Veltliner with white stonefruit and herb flavours on a mouthwatering, dry palate. Serve with seafood and herb-marinated white meat dishes over the next 3 years. Fermentation started in tank and finished in seasoned puncheons, to 12.0% alc. and 1.8 g/L RS. Certified BioGro organic. 16.5+/20 Apr 2017 RRP $24.95
