Babich ‘Family Estates’ ‘Individual Vineyard – Cowslip Valley’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Sep-2014
Fruit from the ‘Cowslip’ vineyard, Waihopi, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.2 g/L RS. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has a softly full and deeply packed nose of pungent passionfruit aromas. The density and concentration grows and the aromatics are pure and focussed. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, tightly concentrated thiol-passionfruit flavours provide a fine-textured guiding line for the palate. Some mineral and fresh herb notes emerge. The acidity is soft, and the sweet fruit is well-balanced, flowing with positive drive, leading to a refined, lingering dry finish. This is an elegant, tightly concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with intense passionfruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. 18.0+/20 Sep 2014 RRP $25.00
