Babich ‘Family Estates’ ‘Individual Vineyard – Cowslip Valley‘ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Mar-2014
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is fine, but well-packed with ripe tropical fruit aromas entwined with gooseberries, green capsicum, herb and mineral notes. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, delicate and subtle flavours of gooseberries, tropical fruits and herbs are lifted by some esters elements. The mouthfeel is light and soft with refined textures and a little acid cut provides good tension. The flavours carry smoothly to a light, lingering finish of gooseberries and herbs. This is a light, softly-textured Sauvignon Blanc with a delicate herbal lift. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Cowslip Valley’ vineyard, Waihopi Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Mar 2014 RRP $25.00
