Babich Family Estates ‘Individual Vineyard – Cowslip Valley’ Marlborough Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Jul-2016
Bright, light lemon-hued straw-yellow colour with a flash of gold, pale on the edge. The nose is very elegant and finely presented with aromas of lime fruit, yellow florals, a little honey and nuances of toast and minerals. The aromatics build in depth, intensity, harmony and interest with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features softly concentrated flavours of exotic yellow florals lime fruit along with honeysuckle and complexing toast and mineral detail. The mouthfeel is refreshingly bright and lively with crisp, lacy acidity, and the wine follows a very fine-featured, soft line. The flavours carry to a gently rich, sustained finish with interwoven complexing detail. This is a beautifully fine and complex dry Riesling with lime, honey, mineral and toast notes and a refreshing palate. Match with Asian fare over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the ‘Cowslip’ vineyard, Waihopi Valley, fermented in stainless-steel to 11.5% alc. and 5 g/L RS. 18.5+/20 Jul 2016 RRP $27.00
