Marlborough fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel, with a small portion in seasoned oak barriques to 13.0% alc. and 3.7 g/L RS. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is full, open and voluminous with lifted esters in an amalgam of tropical fruits, citrus and passionfruit, softly and evenly presented. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, elegant passionfruit and gooseberry flavours are lifted by esters, providing an up-front, softly sweet palate. This has a gentle, pungent core, with fine, rounded textures, but balanced by ripe, subtly refreshing acidity. The flavours flow smoothly along a moderately concentrated and linear finish. This is an elegantly lifted tropical-fruit flavoured Sauvignon Blanc with a soft freshness. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. 18.0/20 Mar 2014 RRP On-premise only
