Babich ‘Black Label’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Nov-2012
Brilliant, full straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a softly full and gentle nose of ripe stonefruits with ethereal and lifted florals, sweet gooseberry and capsicum essence aromas. Dry to taste, subtle flavours of gooseberries and stonefruits build to fill the palate. The mouthfeel is soft and acidity discreet in expression, but there is an underlying alcohol drive which adds a little warmth and richness. The flavours follow a good line to an elegant and soft finish with delicate flavours of fresh herbs and gooseberries. This is a soft-textured and flavoured Sauvignon Blanc to serve with Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel, with a small portion in old oak barriques to 13.0% alc. and 2.6 g/L rs. 17.0+/20 Nov 2012 RRP On-premise only
