Marlborough fruit mostly cool-fermented in tank, with a small portion in old oak barriques to 13.0% alc. Brilliant, very pale straw-yellow with a pale edge. The bouquet is full, fresh and lively, quite up-front with soft, tropical fruit and gooseberry aromas and a hint of minerals, blossoming in the glass. Dry and softly full, this features sweet, juicy passionfruit flavours with a pungent depth, openly accessible and mouthfilling. Fresh acidity underlines the soft textures and the wine is very well-balanced. The slippery finish is gentle and nuanced. Approachable and enjoyable now, this will be a match with antipasto, seafood and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. 18.5-/20 Oct 2011 RRP On-premise only
