B.wine Pinot Noir 2021, Martinborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 08-Sep-2022
Deep, ruby-red with a slight purple hue, lighter on the rim. This nose is bright with good energy, gently releasing aromas of red cherry, raspberry, a hint of herb, hibiscus and spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of red cherry and raspberry interweaved plum, thyme, nutmeg, sweet vanilla and black pepper; a subtle floral note lingers to a long, elegant finish. The fruit shows concentration and depth, supported by a fine acid line. Fine-grained tannin provides a silky mouthfeel. This elegant Pinot Noir shows good energy, lively acidity and concentrated sweet fruit on a fine-textured mouthfeel. Match with lamb rack and duck over the next 5-8 years. Handpicked, destemmed, fermented with 25% whole bunches in stainless steel tank for 15 days to 13.5% alc, aged 12 months in French oak barriques, 20% new. Unfined, unfiltered. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Sep 2022 RRP $45
