Ayrburn Ten Acre Pinot Noir 2022, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 14-Aug-2024
☆☆☆☆☆
Deep crimson with a dusty black core, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is generous and expressive with aromas of blackberry, cherry, plum, mocha, spice and a hint of herb. Medium-full bodied, aromas of blackberry, cherry and plum are succulent, enriched by mocha, pepper, cinnamon and thyme. Dusty tannin extraction frames the bright fruit and spice; enlivening acidity carries a rich, warming finish. This amiable Pinot Noir is approachable, with generous fruit, spice and an elegant texture. Match with shepherd's pie and lamb rump over the next 5+ years. Fruit from Gibbston subregion, fermented with 30% whole bunch, aged 12 months in Fench oak, 30% new oak. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Aug 2024 RRP $90
