Brilliant, light straw-yellow colour with slight green-golden hues, lighter on rim. The nose is softly full and elegantly concentrated with aromas of fresh, ripe citrus fruit and yellow stonefruits, unfolding layers of nutty oak and creamy barrel-ferment elements, subtle flinty lees and nuances of buttery MLF notes. Medium-full bodied, the palate is fulsome with mouthfilling flavours of ripe citrus fruit and yellow stonefruits. The fruit is harmoniously melded with creamy, nutty and toasty oak layers and MLF elements, and the palate exudes richness as it flows. The wine is follows a fine-textured line with fresh, lacy, underlying acidity that carries the flavours to a long, citrussy, nutty and flinty finish. This is a full, flavoursome citrussy, nutty and oaky Chardonnay with fine textures and fresh energy. Match with grilled seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 4 years. Mendoza clone fruit fully-barrel-fermented to 13.8% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 20% new French oak, the wine undergoing occasional batonnage and 35% MLF. 18.0+/20 May 2015 RRP $27.00
