Awatere River Marlborough Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Mar-2014
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is very soft, fine and gently voluminous with attractively lifted ethereal aromas of gooseberry fruit interwoven harmoniously with subtle passionfruit notes. This builds in richness on bouquet. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate of elegant in proportion with bright and gently aromatic, sweet gooseberry and capsicum fruit flavours. Lovely delicate fruit nuances unfold and are carried by lacy acidity and very fine textures to a chalky, minerally finish. This is an ethereally lifted Sauvignon Blanc with refined acidity and mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood. Fruit from alluvial soils stainless-steel fermented to 12.8% alc. and 3.8 g/L RS, the wine given 2 months lees contact. 17.5+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $23.00
