Awatere River Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Sep-2017
Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on the rim. The nose is softly full and well-packed with harmoniously melded aromas of gooseberries and passionfruit with subtle notes of nettles and cut grass, fresh herbs and nuances of minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly presented and concentrated with mouthwatering flavours of gooseberries, cut grass and nettles, with hints of passionfruit. The mouthfeel is refreshing with brisk acidity and the wine flows along a fine-textured phenolic line, leading to a long, lingering finish of nettles, grass and herbs/ This is a fresh, zesty, mouthwatering, finely concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry, cut grass, nettle and passionfruit flavours, and a fine textured line. This is very expressive of the Awatere Valley. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. 60% Upper Awatere fruit, 27% Dashwood, 10% Blind River and 3% Wairau fruit, tank-fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 3 months on lees. 17.5+/20 Sep 2017 RRP $23.00
