Awatere River Marlborough Rosé 2017

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Sep-2017
Bright, pale cerise-pink colour with some depth, and slight purple hues, lighter edged. The nose is full with bright, fragrant aromas of strawberries and cream, raspberries and red florals interwoven with lifted confectionary elements. This has a fine and tightly bound core with delicate mineral notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has lively and refreshing, thirst-quenching flavours of strawberries and cream, raspberries and subtle cherry nuances, and lifted red florals. The fruit forms a well-concentrated heart with good linearity. The mouthfeel is enlivened by lacy acidity and the wine flows along a fine-textured phenolic thread, leading to a dry, aromatic finish of raspberries and florals. This is a vibrant, refreshing dry rosé with strawberries and cream, raspberry, cherry and floral flavours on a palate with a fine, dry line. Serve as an aperitif, with canapes and antipasto over the next 2 years. All clone 115 Pinot Noir from a single site in the Lower Dashwood, given 4 hours skin contact and tank-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 2.2 g/L RS. 18.0/20 Sep 2017 RRP $23.00
