Awatere River Marlborough Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 31-Aug-2016
Bright candy-floss pink with slight purple hues and some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and bright with full volume of strawberry and raspberry fruit aromas entwined with a layering of confectionary, lifted red florals and subtle fermentation esters elements. The aromatics show good depth and density. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the flavours of strawberries, raspberries and fruit pastille confectionary gently fill the mouth and build to form an elegantly concentrated core. The mouthfeel is smooth and flows easily following a soft-textured line with integrated acidity. The wine carries to a soft, aromatic finish with confectionary notes. This is a fresh, light, aromatic dry rosé with smooth, mouthfilling flavours of red berry fruits and confectionary. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Abel clone Pinot Noir fruit from the Ward district, hand-picked and given 4 hours skin contact, and cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Sep 2016 RRP $23.00
