Aveleda ‘Reserva da Familia’ Miho Alvarinho 2016

Other White from Portugal
Review Date : 21-Jun-2018
Full, even, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is soft and aromatic with a deep and well-concentrated core of white florals and white stonefruits along with suggestions of herbs and saline elements, unveiling a little reductive, flinty lees adding to the interest. This has good presence and intensity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a soft heart of white florals along with white stonefruits, citrus fruits and minerals with saline nuances, revealing flinty detail. The mouthfeel is rounded with good drive and line, and the wine is smooth-flowing with slippery acidity. As the wine flows, a little phenolic grip appears and the wine carries to a dry, light-textured finish. This is a dry Alvarinho with a rounded heart of white florals and white stonefruits with saline, mineral and flity detail on a slippery palate with a little grip. Serve with seafood and Asian fare over the next 2 years. Alvarinho fruit tom the Vinho Verde region, fermented in stainless-steel and 500 L oak barrels to 12.0% alc. and <5g/L RS, the wine aged on lees undergoing batonnage. 18.0/20 Jun 2018 RRP $36.00
