Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour. The nose is firmly packed and concentrated with aromas of ripe black fruits along with pepper and savoury herb notes. A dusty earth and minerally aspect to the aromatics is present. Medium-bodied, the ripe black fruits are sweetened by dark red berry flavours, and form a deep core with good drive. The fruit is juicy and lush, with bright acidity adding to the liveliness of the mouthfeel. Supple tannins support the flavours, and are balanced to allow the fruit to feature. The palate carries through to a long sweet finish. This is an approachable, modern, juicy-fruited and fresh Douro red with ripe fruit and earthy interest. Match with roasted red meats over the next 5-6 years. A blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesca, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz from the Douro, fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged in oak and tank for 6 months.
