Auntsfield ‘Single Vineyard’ Southern Valleys Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Oct-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is full and gently voluminous with aromas of passionfruit and tropical fruits lifted by fresh herbs and some fermentation esters, building to form a soft, deep core. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a softly fresh and up-front, luscious array of pungent passionfruit, tropical fruit, herb, floral aromas along with some fresh fermentation esters elements. The mouthfeel is rich, juicy and plush, the fruit balanced by fine textures and mouthwatering acidity. This has good weight and presence, the flavours filling the palate from the deep heart and core. The wine carries to a long and sustained finish of passionfruit and lifted aromatic herbs. This is a softly full and luscious, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with good weight and presence, fine textures and softly ripe acidity. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Predominantly cool-fermented in stainless-steel, with a portion hand-picked, WBP and fermented in seasoned oak to 13.0% alc. 18.0-/20 Oct 2016 RRP $22.95
