Full, dark, deep ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is bold and voluminous with vibrant, primary, well-ripened dark raspberry and plum fruit aromas entwined with raspberry liqueur, black berry fruits, lifted floral and confectionary whole berry fermentation notes and a suggestion of jam. Medium-full bodied, softly packed and dense fruit flavours of plums and dark raspberries fill the mouth, revealing earth and jam interest. The fruit is supported by serious tannin extraction providing a grainy texture. Soft acidity moderates the grip and mouthfeel, and the wine carries through to a dry-textured, well-structured finish with savoury plum jam and earthy notes. This is a fulsome, well-structured Pinot Noir with ripe dark raspberry fruit and soft density. Match with roasted red meats and casseroles over the next 6-8 years. Estate fruit hand-picked, destemmed and fermented partially with indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 14 months in French oak barriques. 18.0+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $39.95
