Auntsfield ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Mar-2015
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues. The nose is full with rich and harmoniously melded , deep aromas of ripe stonefruits and citrus fruit, creamy barrel-ferment elements, nuts and lemon-curd MLF. There is steely freshness and a youthful lift to the aromatics. Medium-full bodied, the palate is gently concentrated with harmoniously interwoven flavours of yellow stonefruits, citrus fruits, creamy and nutty oak and buttery MLF. The palate has richness and drive, the wine flowing smoothly along a fine textural thread, enlivened by lacy acidity. The wine carries to a soft, dry finish that blooms with nutty and MLF flavours. This is a soft, gently packed, harmonious Chardonnay with stonefruit and creamy oak, lemon-curd MLF flavours that blossom. Match with creamy sauce seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next years. Equal portions of clone 95 and Mendoza, fully barrel-fermented, with 10% by indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak on lees with minimal batonnage and 10% undergoing MLF. 17.5+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $32.00
