Auka La Consulta Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina
Review Date : 09-May-2011
Very full, very dark, deep purple-hued ruby-red colour, this has an attractively fresh, vibrantly aromatic nose of blackcurrants and cassis, the varietal character quite pure and clear-cut. An elegant, cool-climate style, this has finely expressed blackcurranty flavours with well-balanced background oaking. Freshness is the feature, with good acid tension, and the extraction is significant but fine-grained. The firm backbone carries through to a drying finish with good length. This was aged in French oak for 6 months. 13.5% alc. Serve with roast lamb over the next 4-5 years. 17.0/20 May 2011 RRP $24.95
