Fruit from vines planted in 2002 in ‘bony' soils, WBP and cool-fermented to 9.5% alc. and 62 g/L rs, with TA 8.5 g/L and pH 2.87. Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on edge. This has a very tight, concentrated nose with a detailed amalgam of limes and citrus fruits, exotic florals, herbs, rainwater, and slate-like minerals. Sweet to taste, elegant, very intense flavours of citrus fruits, honeysuckle and florals are juxtaposed with beauty and balance, with great precision, and are supported by very fine, racy acidity providing cut and poise through the palate. The mouthfeel is very fine in texture and the lacy acidity with knife-edge tension and slipperiness. The flavours of florals, honey and minerals flow to a very long and sustained soft finish. A sweet Riesling with exceptional poise and beautifully detailed, complex, exotic floral and minerally flavours.
