Au Bon Climat ‘Los Alamos Vineyard’ Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from USA
Review Date : 19-Jun-2013
From the ‘Santa Barbara Heritage Vineyards Collection, the ‘Los Alamos’ vineyard, WBP and barrel-fermented, the wine aged 11 months in mainly seasoned oak, the wine given lees contact. Pale straw yellow colour. This has a positive bouquet with direct and intense aromas of white and ripe yellow stonefruits along with nuts and flint that is quite upfront and complete. Medium-full bodied, sweet and lush stonefruits and tropical fruits are the feature. Some nutty secondary elements and flinty interest add detail. Good acidity enhances the juicy and lively mouthfeel, and the palate, has an openness and approachability. The flavours are full, soft and show a little robustness and grip on the finish. This is a juicy, lush and accessible Chardonnay with good complexing interest for the next 4-5+ years. 18.5/20 Jun 2013 RRP $55.99
