Ataahua Waipara Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 08-Jan-2014
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is softly full and aromatic with sweet grassy, citrus and passionfruit notes, showing some cooler spectrum fruit characters. Dry to taste and light-bodied, gentle flavours of gooseberries, nettles and grass form an easy, rounded and smooth-flowing palate. The acidity is mellow, enhancing the soft textures and provides accessibility, and the flavours carry through to a lightly textured dry finish with flavours of gooseberry and fresh herbs. This is a soft, easy and light Sauvignon Blanc with smooth flowing grassy and gooseberry flavours. Serve with antipasto, salads and vegetables over the next 18 months. Cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3 g/L RS, the wine given 3 months lees aging. 16.0/20 Jan 2014 RRP $24.00
