Ataahua Waipara Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 12-Oct-2011
Very pale straw colour with some green hues and a pale edge. The nose is elegant and finely proportioned with subtle passionfruit and gooseberry aromas, and some nettley fruit in the cooler spectrum lifted by fermentation esters. Dry to taste, this is a little reticent in expression, the flavours of gooseberries and pungent passionfruit along with floral lift showing. The palate is underlined by slippery, racy acidity providing smooth textures and moderate focus. Old vine Waipara Valley fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4 g/L rs, the wine given lees stirring for 3 months. This is a more delicate, elegant wine that will put on more weight over the next two years. Match with subtle Asian dishes. 16.0+/20 Oct 2011 RRP $22.00
