Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir 2004

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 30-Jun-2014
A very cool and wet vintage. Dark ruby-red colour, lighter on rim. This has a cool, lifted and fragrant nose, with straightforward, pretty strawberry and raspberry notes, along with confectionary elements. Medium-bodied, raspberry fruit with fragrant and jammy whole-berry fermentation-like flavours are prevalent. The fruit has a subtle herbal edge, but has good structural support with tannin extract providing mouthfeel and texture, the acidity in balance. Initially distinctly herbal, this has grown into itself well over the years. This is a more simple, but pretty and aromatic wine. Drink over the next 3+ years. 17.0+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $N/A
