Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir 2000

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 30-Jun-2014
The millennium vintage. A cooler year with slow ripening, finally getting there, producing bigger berries. Bright ruby-red colour with a little garnet, still fresh in appearance. The nose is beautifully fragrant and lifted, still with primary berry fruit and red florals, the aromatics expressed with elegant proportion and finesse. Medium-bodied on palate, this is an elegant and slender wine, with fine-grained tannins and fresh, lacy acidity supporting a refined line of bright red floral and cherry, berry fruit. There is no undue secondary development, the primary lift the feature. The fruit depth fades a little, and the mouthfeel tends towards leanness on the finish. This is another wine showing the beauty and freshness of a cool season. 18.0/20 Jun 2014 RRP $N/A
